The Old One Poem by Ima Ryma

The Old One

Rating: 5.0

There came the day the old one fell,
And all around were family,
In time and place where they did dwell,
The old one in fond memory.
Younger had learned from the old one
About the ways to better live.
When younger errors had been done,
The old one was first to forgive.
Pillar of strength, the old one stood,
Through so many a dusk and dawn,
Constant reminder of life's good.
Sadly, the old one now was gone.

All in the forest be forlorn,
The old dead tree, living do mourn.
