The Old Lie God Religion Causes Wars Poem by Terence George Craddock

The Old Lie God Religion Causes Wars

these are days of increasing hate violence wars

too many times in too many places across too many years
I have heard the old lie that God religion causes wars
no people cause wars hate causes wars greed causes wars

did you not know that a long time ago God wrote laws
to protect humanity people from suffering hate greed wars
some were called the Ten Commandments written in stone

thy shall not kill means do not murder your enemies
thy shall not commit adultery means no heartbreak betrayals
thy shall not steal means no loss no stolen possessions

thy shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
means protection from lies deceit cruel heartless gossips
thy shall not covet means protection from greed curses

thy shall have no other gods before me means honour what is right
thy shall not make for yourself idols means worship not greed objects
thy shall not is love wisdom to protect people from painful lives

yes God gave people free will your choices bless curse your lives
yes some people use God religion as reasons to hate kill other souls
yes evil hates kills tortures steals covets may use religious excuses

but do not be mistaken hate greed wars are against God's laws
Jesus said at Matthew 22: 36-40 the two great commandments
are the blessings ''love the Lord thy God with all thy heart''

''love thy neighbour as thyself'' but why are these blessings?
''Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God
with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.''

''This is the first and great commandment.''
''And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself.'' ''On these

two commandments hang all the law and the prophets''

strange how it is so often people that hate steal covet
kill who tell the old lie that God religion causes wars
it is greed hate powerful elite people who causes wars
