The Night Has Its Innocence Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Night Has Its Innocence

THE NIGHT HAS ITS INNOCENCE

The night has its innocence
‘The fields open to the sky’
The passerbys – each to their own destination.
No war.

And I walking
So quiet inside
As if nothing we love
Could ever die.
