The Monster Poem by Nenia Arnaiz Dulom

The Monster

I would smile a sweetest smile
In the face of chaotic time
Or would just grind my teeth when I
Confronted with hardship and lie.

I bear the monster's trial
I aptly named reality's ordeal and wile
Though under its scrutinizing stare
No one can hide and take cover.

I've been with you all this time
I never run nor retreat to distant
Though fear filled my heart sometimes
Yet I brave the terror
You often conceived in my mind.

Perhaps you know me now
You can tell how I survived
I embraced your trick and trap
The so called pains of life.
