The Metamorphosis Poem by Alonso Menendez

The Metamorphosis

Rating: 3.0

Twisted brain
Shredding time and space
Destroy all rational thought.

Shadows on the wall flicker in the candlelight,
images of the alien nation.
One mind,
divided,
for which it stands.
A god
insane,
as are we all.

I am melting.
My existence
drowning in a pool
down the sewer.
A suffocation
in the defecation
of the machine.

Momentary flashes of light serve to blind
rather than bring illumination
to eyes too long accustomed to darkened circumstances.

Every thought is an assassin.
Launching itself into my mind.
Slowly bringing about the decay.
Falling down never ending spirals.
Descending into the complete and eventual breakdown of all forms of order.

Where is the light
for those who cannot see?

I pray for the structure of chaos.
Sweet sweet entropy.
Bearing down.
Overwhelming
Day by zombie-like day.
Crushing all until nothing is left,
but an invisible point of singularity
which is finally immune to everything.
Lack of dimension being strength.
The essence of resistance
it’s natural state.
Becoming invincible in the transition as it disappears into the void.
