The Messiah

Rating: 4.0

I was there when it happened or when I did it,
I even left the place without anybody on sight
Sometimes I'm the only one, sometimes not,
If I stay away when I'm wanted,
All sorts of bad things happen, even death,

I walk around all the time,
In places where I'm wanted or not wanted,
Sometimes I may be called upon to justify myself,
That indeed I'm the Messiah,
Sometimes I just decide to shy away
Sometimes I'm forced by conscience to reveal myself,
Sometimes I reveal myself unawares,
I know that people have called for me in desperation
They have asked a myriad of people,
And looked for me in a myriad of places,
Sometimes I have to wait for my conscience to tell me if I can reveal myself
At times when I don't, I feel really bad,

At times throngs of people go about asking for my revelation,
'Cause somebody's life is at stake,
The kings are on the verge of deciding,
Whether somebody's life can be spared or not,
They don't know me, they claim to know me,
They claim to have found me,
Thus I'm the fate to the object of their decision,

I know a lot of people have been hurt,
Because I failed to come to their rescue,
I know a lot of people have lost respect,
Because I did not appear on the time of great need
I know a lot of people have even been guillotined,
Because I did not heed my conscience,
I know that the people who believed I was there,
When something was stolen,
When somebody was hurt,
When somebody was assassinated,
When somebody was not told the real story,
They have not changed their minds,
That hurts somebody's ego,
That besmirches the proud man's reputation,
That kills the soul,

My non-appearance in times of need is disastrous,
The longer I stay away some people's lives ebb away,
They suffer psychologically and physically,
Some people camouflage my identity and bring relieve to the affected,
Albeit the relieve is an imitation but believable,
Thus it became the blood of the kings' weapon,
Sometimes the tears of the kings' weapon,

My appearance sometimes is called the 11th hour reprieve
Sometimes, ‘the stay of execution'
Or freedom,
However, my real name is Messiah
I'm not Jesus Christ, I don't save people all the time,
‘Because I'm married to conscience
I rescue people based on the mood of conscience
I sometimes come to the rescue of people,
When they are on the verge of death,
Sometimes I let them loose reputation,
Or even die, and then I appear,
I know the damage cannot be reversed,
What's done cannot be undone,
I don't care as long as I have appeared,

I know that there are times when I had to appear willy-nilly,
When I eventually appear I bring everlasting relieve,
I may bring relieve to the victim and the alleged scapegoat,
They know me because I sometimes use them,
To present myself before the kings,
At times they are reluctant to help me,
And I had to use a third party,
When I use the third party I'm like the cunning hitch-hiker,
When I see that we are about to cause an accident, I jump,
That is why I never die, I save those who are vulnerable,
Even when they have been hurt in anyway, I save them,
To gain their reputations whilst they are alive or even in their graves,
