The Merky Water Poem by Katherine Perry

The Merky Water

Why is it so, no matter how often we're told
We do still stray from his face
Yet, no matter how young, no matter how old
We are but always in the presence of his grace

Foolishness will take us to any lengths in the evil that we do
But somehow come back to the realization of lasting hope
Once again put our trust and faith in you

God, how on earth would we survive
If you should mark our guilt
And how would our actions reflect the wise
If our own wisdom cannot be built

In all rightousness our souls are longing for you Lord, not men
And because it is with you that there is mercy
All of the excuses that we have to justify our sins
Will then always leave the water to be merky!
