The Man Who Has To March Poem by Tsead Bruinja

The Man Who Has To March

he is the man who has to march
has to march and march and march

so full of desire
and hooked on women
so blind to
how he is
doing dammit
that he has to walk
walk until he
grows transparent
and thin as air
sees his desire
be dissolved

he is the man who has to march
has to march and march and march

through the park
past the sandpit
through the sandpit
into the climbing frame
where he dreams
of deserts
tongue lizards
and drift sands
as thin as he
wants to be

he is the man who has to march
has to march and march and march

with his dream
his dream that no fence
could enclose
