The Lover's Dream Poem by Sarah2 McMahon

The Lover's Dream

His heart who has loved, is filled with delight,
Though beats of remorse could ring through.
The airs of the dreamer fill up the night
As their dream ship sails into the blue.
Look up! A moon that shines like the day
In a world that is sudden and new.
This lover’s dream paves the way
In a world where the lovers seem few.

Great feelings arise with the start of a dream,
A dream that holds the future within.
With love and inspiration and new self esteem,
He walks down each path with a grin.
Choosing the path is a hard decision,
But he chooses with love within view.
And his lover, oh, how he does win
In a world where the lovers seem few.

Now happiness crawls with its anxious might
And the boy is a man now full grown.
He has taken the reins and put a fight
In a world where the most is unknown.
He’s been scared, he’s been hurt, he’s been thrown,
He’s been cheated on and longs for something true.
He’s been through this and he’s still not alone
In a world where the lovers seem few.

His journey is done; there is nothing to add,
His life will end all too soon.
He’ll remember his friends and the love that he had
In a world where the lovers seem few.
