The Lost Laugh Poem by Anita Singh

The Lost Laugh

His articulate ringing laughter
Is still echoing in my mind,
When I recall those happy days
Which we spent together
I fall in the ocean of my tears.

How fake this life is?
It compels you to loose your identity
For somebody who will be soon
Snatched away from you.
The rain which made me feel light
Now drenches my heavy heart making it cry,
The cool breeze which used to bring
Bundles of smiles to me
Now tears me apart when I go against it,
The moonlight which used to lighten
My night now seems to glimmer like
A candle flame which finally diminishes
When my tear dropp falls on it.

Why do we fall in love with
His false painted picture which will be washed away
as soon as the tears of reality fall on it.
Now this world seems to float
Leading me to nowhere,
But I'm still hobbling and tagging along
Irresistible memories which have outstripped me .

I fell down on the ground with thud
Mourning the lost laugh
Which has left me all alone
In this false painted picture
Where I struggle to live everyday
But die with every restless breathe...
