The Light In My Darkness Poem by Linda Barnes

The Light In My Darkness

Rating: 3.5

Why must I continue to remain
Hidden from society
In my dungeon of despair
With no compass to find my way

A life becomes unbalanced
Without love or mere touch
Becoming isolated and mute
And withdrawn from affection

I seek to be found this time
To bring life back to my heart
Tattered and shattered in pieces
By the loss of my beloved

As I open the curtain
Will I see what is out there
Could it be an illusion in a dream
Or the dawn of a new me

I must find what has been lost
From another's lonely heart
My beacon of hope who will track
The Light in my Darkness
