The Light Poem by Sarah Gray

The Light

Rating: 5.0

I must have done something
I must have done wrong
I could have said sorry
I could have stayed long.

I, for one, can see no blood
From the hearts or the wrist you supposedly cut
But maybe if you hear me out
You can love me no matter what.

To you I am invisible
No where to be found
What you do not know
Is that I am here; I am all around.

Do you care, do you mind,
Do you even have the time?
Will you listen when I talk?
Or will you just say fine?

Do you notice the cuts on my wrist?
The blood on my shirt?
Do you see the monster?
The one emerging from the mist,
I do.

When will be my time?
My time to shine, my time to sparkle
My time to stand out, that one moment when I have no doubt.

There is a place that I go.
There is a sight to see.
There is a heavenly angel
Watching over me.

There is no love as strong as mine.
While you sit and waist your precious time.
And there is no one to guide you
In this life.

So let me show you the light.
Let me show you the light.
