The Last Stop Before Home-Pantoum Poem by Evelyn Judy Buehler

The Last Stop Before Home-Pantoum

Rating: 5.0

The next stop is the one I've waited for so long,
So eager now to see the smiling folks back home,
For memory now plays an old well-known love song,
Ever drawing one back, no matter where they roam.

So eager now to see the smiling folks back home,
And to frequent all the places that I used to go!
It ever draws one back, no matter where they roam,
Like honeycomb draws bees, toward golden tomorrow.

And to frequent all the places that I used to go,
I'll surely take the pleasure of a prolonged visit.
Like honeycomb draws bees toward golden tomorrow,
Skies tell the late hour, when stained and vivid!

I'll surely take the pleasure of a prolonged visit,
For memory now plays an old well-known love song.
Skies tell the late hour, when stained and vivid,
The next stop is the one I've waited for so long!
