Before she got an “F”
On an English Paper
At college
She would write lots of poetry
Without worrying
About what anyone
Thought
And she enjoyed it immensely.
After she got the “F”
She couldn’t write anything
Without worrying
What everyone
Would think of her writing
And she wondered where
The “enjoyment”
Of self-expression went
How could an “F” have such power
To destroy her creativity
And why was she allowing
One “F”
To take all the joy of writing poetry
Away from her
And she wondered
Would her last poem
Be her last?
Any tutor who gives an F is plain nasty. To he or she who did, I'd be saying an 'F' of a very different kind. I agree with Fran - and if a poetic talent is suppressed by the whim of one marker, it's a loss to all, not just the internally-stifled writer. t x
That 'F' obviously was soul-destroying. A great write here, Connie, about the power of the pen. I hope she takes hers up again...... Love, Fran xx

I would like to translate this poem
Connie, I just hope that she put the ' F ' to good use, along with her middle digit! B.V.A.
