Lock me up and throw away the key
My heart's about to explode from this catastrophe
Oh, father, what have I done?
What haven't I done?
Oh, father, was I not enough?
Or was I nearly too much?
You locked yourself and threw away the key
Now no one is able to find you,
Is that how you wanted it to be?
Oh, father, have I tried too hard?
Haven't I tried too hard?
Oh, father, can't you even see?
See the light that has been given to me?
I've locked you up and thrown away the key
I no longer need it,
You might as well be dead to me

the request to get locked up is beautifully augmented by the two lines commencing with 'what i have done'...and the line 'i tried too hard' goes very well with the accusation 'you locked yourself up'...and why no grace on her? the decision on belated revelation comes in the ending lines...mind already loosing faith now opting out the same for once and all...excellent poem...mystic and explosive 10
