The Introspection Poem by Elizabeth Thomas

The Introspection

Rating: 5.0

Lord, you seem so far away,
You were near, when near were far,
When near ones chose to tear,
You were there to mend,

You are so silent in your work,
I hardly see you or hear you.
Yet you do it, all in time
and save us all.

Only hope! no one loves you or knows you,
Yet you chose only to love and work for all.
What was lost, was found only because of you,
And what was left, was renewed only by you.

Here I stand, to call upon you, only because of you,
Nothing to boast, beauty, brain, strength and skill all failed.
One by one, All were put down and never meant to rise again

But you rose from ashes and gave life,
Cos only you gave it up, to give it all.
To raise me from where nothing was left, and everything destroyed

You gave it all, without a second thought.
