The International Convention On The Elimination Of All Forms Of Racial Discrimination Poem by Daya Nandan

The International Convention On The Elimination Of All Forms Of Racial Discrimination

Rating: 5.0

I am still shocked at what i saw in the news today,
Lost in thought without words to say,
Seeing my countrymen support discrimination,
Painting a bad image to The united nation,

A demonstration by the ten thousands put our land to shame,
Tainted our spirit of unity with only racism to blame,
We have showed our true colours to the face of the world,
We have shown a bad example to every boy and girl,

i am saddened and heart broken by the people of my land,
After discovering the hidden feelings kept within each hand,
A demonstration to support racism has shown where we stand,
We have still a long way to go to learn and understand,

We have pushed foreign investors away and pushed our land back,
We have shown that love and unity are values that we truly lack,
If we cannot accept each other after generations of building this land,
Then what fate have we sealed for our nation within each hand,

The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination,
Is not supported by the people in in my beloved nation,
I hope that one day we open up our eyes and see,
That the true patriotism is born from the spirit of unity!
