The Innocent Flowers Of Palestine Poem by Aminath Neena

The Innocent Flowers Of Palestine

Way past midnight I was awake
grieving for the innocents of Palestine
and all victims of terror, across this unjust domain
when all of a sudden a voice from my heart

Whispers to my disturbed soul, like never before
'Do not despair about them
For this world is just a state of rem
And what you see is only but a mirage

Life is just a testing phase
a deja vu of predestined events
forming an oasis in your minds
and death is just another of its phases

When you cross a bouldering partition
and travel to prolonged eternity
to be able to reach the final destiny
where the innocent know not suffering

As they embrace the blessings of Allah
The deceased, they will be smiling
Like the twinkling stars beguiling
Their pain forgotten like a speck of dust

Little hearts joined in everlasting mirth
Arms outstretched they await eagerly
to meet their loved ones, patiently
No complaints about previous hardships

Perhaps as songbirds they decor their abode
Overhead the flowing lakes of milk and honey
eager to share their stories of wonderment and joy
as purified angels adorned in heavenly attire

So pray and be thankful to your creator
for these are lessons for you and for all mankind
reminding you of the fragility of this temporal blind
to do as much good while you still can

And let kindness to outshine all boundaries
have some credit saved in your accounts
to pay the debts of sins in huge amounts
of this sultry fictitious abode

And just like those departed souls
you will have to make the journey of never return
someday to the land of the unknown
just by yourself, all alone."
