The Inevitable Poem by Jennifer Gordon

The Inevitable

What's begun isn't good.
It's the start of my tragedy.
I don't want to hurt.
not this time. not again.
I'll break. simply break into a million little pieces.
I'm like glass.
filled with so many cracks.
yet here I am. Still standing.
I'm taking a risk. cause you're worth it.
but if I fall I know it will be.
worth it all even when I hit the bottom.
I can choose to run away now.
or I can choose to wait it out.
Glue won't fix this when it happens.
I'll be so broken.
I don't want to let this happen.
cause the thing is, you can't stop the inevitable.
