The Illusion Of Truth Poem by Frank DeFulgentis

The Illusion Of Truth

illusions are bound
to the words we use
passions entwine us
character
attempts to
remind us
who we are
and have been
in a land of smoke
and mirrors
we begin

to be direct is
considered perverse
we live reality
in reverse
resolving to
shake our heads
perceptions
presumptions
assumptions
are what
we find
we cannot see
outside
our own mind
so we judge
and we live
