The Icon Departed Poem by klacix Sir'Dridgie

The Icon Departed

Rating: 4.5

Father of the nation and an Icon of the World.
He lived and paid all his dues.
We loved and cherished all his do's.
The Master Of His fate.
The loss of the Father of Most, came with a Cost.
We lost in amazement, The Gift from God.
That served as our Lord.

He Retired & Departed.
Hero of the struggle, A fighter, never fought physically.
His strength is mentally & Emotionally.
Prison took most of his life, but never away from our hearts.
His retirement is heart shuttering.
Lived by the wise words he was uttering,
during the apartheid in the clocks of suffering.
To his followers, He was mentoring.
To the poor, He provided shelter & chattering
To his freedom, He kept entering.
Commander in chief Of the ANC.
Through the enemy he could see.
Equality He gained, so did we.
He won his freedom, we got freedom.

He Retired & Departed.
We feel vulnerable & lonely.
Dry your tears don't drop them.
As u may hold his peace & soul back.
On hes way to heaven, safe trip we wish you.
Goodbye wish we could kiss you.
Everything' in our power we'll do to please you.
R.I.P to the innocent soul.
May Mighty God accept his Big soul.

He Retired & Departed.
May your super soul rest in peace.
You fought and fused different colors & called Rainbow Nation.
'Never, and never again shall this nation feel the Oppression'
violence is the action that seeks attention, but never get perfection.
Bornafied is the land we freed and live upon.
He left bitterness and hatred behind.
A role model, one of a kind.
A loyal soldier like you we'll never find.
You're more worth it that this minerals mined.
Ga go yo a swanego le wena, Now that u resigned
i am sudden to the depth of my soul.

He Retired & Departed.
Hamba kahle Nelson Madiba.
Sepela ka kgotso Tata Madiba.
Go well in peace Mr Madiba.
Thanks for your Generousity,
your Love,
for your Life,
for being you.
My eyes cast downwards,
the feeling of shell-shocked.
But Mighty God freed u.
Live forever in peace.
You are mighty and bliss.
You struggled like Jesus for the people.
You Are My Christ.

2013, The Age of 95.

Beautiful tribute to a personality of monumental proportion, an immortal icon and one who epitomizes agape love. A well articulated piece of poetry, insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
