The (Horrible) World Poem by Stephanie Smith

The world is COLD. BLACK. UNINVITING.
CRUEL. MEAN. UNFAIR.
Unless you go along woth it and agree-
Agree to everything it says.
Otherwise it will turn against you...
And that will be the end.

It is like a tunnel.
A long, dark, deep, scary tunnel.
Some are longer, some are shorter.
But you will always reach the end.
And there will be light there. And happiness.
So we have to press on.
We have to continue.
This is the only chance we get to show them.
We can walk.. and walk.. and walk.
And we can make it out of the tunnel.
And to the light on the other side.
