The Grey Mongoose Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Grey Mongoose

The mongoose
Grizzled and grey
Just like a mole,
Not a hedgehog,
Long-nosed,
Long-tailed
Crossing the bushy ways
Ever ready to take on dreaded snakes,
The mongoose
Grey and grizzled
And grotesque and bizarre
Telling the tales of the bushes
And snakes
And its taking on.
