The Gentle Caress Poem by Saikat Poddar

The Gentle Caress

The soft touch of petal
Which felt so pristine
Now alludes my life
Lost in oblivion
Buried under the sands of time.
I yearn for that Gentle Caress
Which soothed my soul
And let me rest my troubled mind
On a gentle bosom.
Our hearts beat as one
While apprehensions remained
Sometimes fast sometimes slow;
The struggle took so much away.
I can't dance to the rains anymore
Or look-up at the passing clouds
With a mind so shrouded
With thoughts of
What went wrong.
The Lilies in full bloom
Which gushed so much happiness within, once
Are a rare sight now.
It is too late to turn the clock
The bosom has to wait
For the resting mind.
May be another lifetime…
