The Gargoyle Effect Poem by Sal Catharticus

The Gargoyle Effect

Rating: 5.0

The rains are abound

We fold our arms

fold our arms and wait around

Stoic by day, frozen in flight

looking down as the world goes down

open-mouthed and not making a sound

looking down as the world goes down

High up from the troubles

while the pot begins to bubble

Your face so filled with shock and awe

Shock and awe and you're immune to the gore.

looking down as the world goes down

open-mouthed and not making a sound

looking down as the world goes down

But you can't help

you're petrified

Muted, voiceless,

totally proselytized

looking down as the world goes down

open-mouthed and not making a sound

looking down as the world goes down

conditioned for inaction with an engrained frown.
