The Game Plays Games Poem by Aisha Evans

The Game Plays Games

Two things always mattered
I was neither one.
I had so much faith in us I shoulda had none.
Never thought u would play me now I see our time is done.
I was crying my heart out you was tryna come up some.
This game had u on lock
Diamonds u wore distracted me a lot
Henny iced up on rocks
You were balling non stop
I was waiting around the clock
U were dodging me a lot
Still tried to make it work
Through the pain it always hurt
Lessons learned new preachers
Different agendas new teachers
No one’s stopping I had 2 lead us
U left us alone u never needed us
Now u can’t get in touch no way to reach us
We done moved on cant hear through dem speakers
A thousand miles u can run in ur Gucci sneakers
To get back in my heart ur gonna have to creep up
Im ice cold heart done departed
I cant blame u the game is retarted
U liked all those fancy names
I thought u had a brain now I see ur rather lame
So while ur switching lanes
I’ll be in the cut
Im good go after dem girls with the big butts
I loved u once to love u again would be pure luck
I was young In a jam all stuck
That was then when I was a yung buck
Try me now it wouldn’t last
So happy I can get pass my past!
