The Footprints Poem by Aida Shaji

The Footprints

The shadow of my life she stood
all in my life she shone.
With her dazzling eyes,
the day was bright
nothing never was complete without her.

Chasing the world, we flew around.
Her golden locks brighter than the Sun.
Moving with the wind, she was
the twin of my life.

She faded like a magic star
flew apart from me with her innocence
escaped this stage to the eternal one
Leaving me black and blank she vanished
with tears of sorrow left behind.

She disappeared far leaving me in dark
couldn't stop her though I run behind.
No longer she was visible
to anyone around
was she to me in my soul.

Though she left with footprints beside
which came dim each day
it stood still in my heart that
no one ever could take away.

It stood with me, the footprints
taking me to the life ahead
showing me the wonders, it goes
ahead, soaring up high
the shadow in disguise.
