The Fly That Tortured The Spider Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Fly That Tortured The Spider

Rating: 5.0

Caught beneath an axis of vicious symmetry
the bound fly squirmed
kicking, thrashing and hopelessly bashing
against a coffin of barbed wire silk
Paralyzed, etherized in waken perdition
its six arms flailed in useless motion
making breast strokes
through gelatin oceans
whaling in its last confessions
as it sucked at the scraps of its mortality

Then, like some black cloud, came a voracious spider
Trawling in an 8 wheel tango
it gaily crept, and never wept
lathing neatly through abattoir spires
before descending on its unwilling partner
snuggling its fangs, into the wretches abdomen
peeling off flesh as if it were toffee
carving limbs, joints like a gory puzzle
stripping flesh like a sharp toothed Zamboni
slowly but surely working its black saliva mouth
with entrails caresses over its living lunch meat

in blood stained tears
the fly cried out
"why do you do this
I've made no offence"

and the spider spoke
in soothing sleep
"it's my nature"
"and I must obey my nature"

so it said then, tore off the flies head

and then, one day their shot a bullet of change
hurtling with sharpshooting skills
it dashed within a flash, of optical whiplash
before hovering on lime canopy
scheming, stalking with taut disciplined sedition
bidding its time, with fish lensed eyes
shadow dancing
as airs spry silhouette
searing a trail of vapor vengeance
like someone who wanted to break the axis

and with a black badge of gutter courage
the fly dived down,
towards the velvet shroud
it burst with a thirst, of winged ballistics
punching through skin of tough gnarled velvet
it cauterized led and dismantled web
Performing death defying feast
of aeronautic brevity
stripping flesh wounds on silver spans
collapsing steel towers
of the butchers grand cathedral
Natures punching bag strikes back for the attack

and the spider began to spin,
where the fly would dive and nose in
but in its haste it couldn't foresee
the trick the fly had slowly weaved
for it had zigged and it zagged,
around the spider playing tag
like a master funambulist
luring an audience by hypnotist
and the lief headhunter slipped
fallen on its spinnerets tips
the spider became entangled
in its own web that it had spangled
legs, femurs coxa and fovea
where all coated in hysteria
it tried to wiggle itself out
but it was a futile bout
and the spider began to scream as the flies compound eyes gleamed

the spider dangled in its own cauldron
the fly circled,
enjoying its sick conundrum
then it began a session of whipping
it gouged an eye and tore open a pedipalps
punched raw at its stomach
until it threw up its breakfast
tenderly cauterized, the eight legs abdomen
small guts stuck out like human snot
stains of bloody confetti
around the dead rims of the broken apex beast
and the fly never tired
of breaking the spider

then the spider cried out
fear chewed into its eyes
"why are you doing this
I've never done ill"

and the fly stared
and simply shrugged
"Because It's your nature
and I will defy it.

" Because It's your nature and I will defy it. Beautifully dramatized piece on the revenge of a fly. A gripping piece by and by.

A terrifying but very well composed story. True to life. The abused and killed will one day fight back. But often many have to die before that happens. I generally don't care for longer poems but I was fascinated by this one, so vividly and extraordinarily well written.

Retaliation will come sooner or later! All wicked acts will bounce back, may not be in the immediate future but in course of time! The way the trap is laid and the manner in which this act of stark revenge is executed is so very impressive! The language used is powerful enough to convey the horror and violence of this blood curdling drama of vengeance! Top marks!

for tat! Retaliation can come quite unexpected! We have to pay a heavy price for all our acts of wickedness, may not be in the immediate future, but in time. This is a wonderful yarn of revenge. The way the trap is laid with the act of stark revenge executed is so impressive! The language used is powerful to convey the horror of the ''drama'. This is an eye opener to all autocrats and terrorists. Their actions will be paid back in lethal dose one day or other! Amazing write!
