The Famous Book Poem by Mariela Contreras

The Famous Book

I now stand cold and alone on the top shelf
Awaiting for my re-open
For I once was firm and useful
I gave forever warmth.

Oh! How I long for the touches of the hand.
For the hand to feel my surface

I hold the many words that will save,
And transform this world!

Why do you not care for me?

I am what your eyes meet to fill your head
with pure knowledge that once opened those eyes,
Your eyes!

My corners untouched
My pages unseen
My cover now full with dust and webs

How do you live without me?

I await the day for you to read my lonley pages.
For you have put me away and now i long for your return.

God's child prepare yourself
Awake!
For you are weak without me,
I hold the key to forevermore

I now stand cold and alone on the top shelf
Waiting for your touch
Awaiting for my re-open

I hope we're talking about the Bible here. Every Christian should read it for as what you said, it is the key to forevermore.
