They’re an unlikely pair,
The fairy and the ogre.
She is delicate and fragile,
Wings of gossamer
Fluttering wildly.
He is hulking and inelegant,
Outsized limbs of iron
Forceful and self-conscious.
But her tiny hands smooth his furrowed brow,
Her silken voice his tonic.
And he gathers her close, her shelter,
His giant blue eyes her anchor.
