The Encounter Poem by Sandra Feldman

The Encounter

Rating: 4.8

We had known each other for some time,
Exchanged glances, words, maybe a rhyme,
Our hands had touched and nothing else,
But when I saw You, I was blessed.

Yet separation came too soon!
You chose the Earth and I the Moon,
Never again our paths did cross,
And you became my Albatross,
My one and only, greatest loss

It's a nice, complete poem, written in just nine lines. 'You chose the Earth and I the Moon, , ' -Is a wonderful expression. Liked it very much. 'And you became my Albatross, ' -Is another wonderful expression. An albatross can be both an omen of good or bad luck, as well as a metaphor for a burden to be carried as penance. I guess you meant the latter.
