The Emotional Winters Poem by Rebekah Hedquist

The Emotional Winters

Rating: 4.0

Screams would fill the air,
The house is cold with fear.
I cry alone
Fearing the worst out of the old.

You’ couldn’t have know I was lonely.
You could hear the crying and
See the tears coming from upstairs.
I fear I would lose them both.

I want to run outside
And be enfolded into the cold winter night.
The winter causes me to be
Scared, alone, and feared.

Watching the snow fall to the hard earth floor,
Just as my tears fell to the carpeted floor.
I feared the emotional winters
Just as I did before.
