The Early Days And Today Poem by Sandeep Agarwal

The Early Days And Today

The first word I uttered was you,
And the first lady I recognized was you.

The first hand I held was yours,
And the first soul I trusted was yours.

The reason for my first smile was you,
And the cure for my first cry was you.

The first ears I yelled in out of pain were yours,
And the first face I recalled in moments of joy was yours.

In all these years of my life,
Many transformations have made their way.

But one thing that certainly exists even today,
Is the continuance of my first experiences of life.

Even today you are the first one,
Whom I recall in moments of pain and joy.

My smiles and cries are at times meant for you,
And the other times I wish to share the incidents with you.

Still I expect your hand to be extended in difficult times,
And your soul to bless me during my tough hours.

The word I first utter in times of pleasure and sorrow is you.
And the lady I consider as my loyal companion is you.

You are important not because you made me what I am,
But because it is still you who make me what I am.
