The Dust Rose Poem by Tony Adah

The Dust Rose

The dust rose up high into the heavens
Leaving us behind
They told us that we came from dust
And from dust we will return
But the dust left us stranded
Toiling and reluctant to rise
Rise high into the heavens
Because there's still a breath
In our lungs.
