The Dung Beetle Poem by Tony Adah

The Dung Beetle

The dung beetle rolled
Rotting cow dung along
The lady beetle clad in royal robes
Refused to look its way
For she might be invited
To the dung rolling trade.

The children followed along
Chanting deriding songs
And taunting the dung beetle
This is what the lady beetle hates
For children may class her here!
