The Dream Poem by Vishorag Shadja

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

The fact that love defines care
Laid my soul incessantly bare
Without your impending urge
The whole world feels like a purge

The bittersweet trifles haunt my past
Leaves me breathless and aghast
With the relish of my endless pain
I finally know my hollow gain

I see my executioner in my future
Leading towards my heart's rupture
The one thing that completed me
Does no longer belong to me

Awaiting your sweet voice call
I just stare at the crystal ball
The killing spree of the anticipation
Lead to my incessant consumption

Now drunk with the sweet memories
I talk to a person called Reese
He says love always hurts nonetheless,
What does he know? But less...!

I walk back the beaten path
Not able to suppress the wrath
The truth that you are with him
Brings my tears to the brim

The darkness engulfs me
Like the ocean at night
With my increasing plight
Of sadness and lack of light

The world around me starts to shake
I could hear my hearts increasing rate
With a jolt my dream is crushed
Down the drain my grief is flushed

I hear giggles from the funny sound of a cart
A sweet divine voice fills my still beating heart
Now I understand what life is all about
Loving someone who loves you without lout

Dear! Was it a bad dream, she asks with all the kindness
Without a trace of any kind of impending smugness
This is the kind of love I always required!
Unrequited is just the dream that transpired
