The Doll Soldier Poem by Seok Jin Lee

The Doll Soldier

He was the bravest
Simply one of the finest
Just far too earnest

He never forgave
Anyone who dared to rave
His nation, his king

He was feared by men
And known as the raven
War was his Eden

Yet he was mortal
His flesh torn from cold metal
Leaving wounds fatal

There he laid breathless
His fearsome face now hopeless
His sword still bloodless

Many died and few lived
A crow flew by and shouted
Fools, forever led

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about how soldiers get controlled a lot like tools in war. P.S. Have you noticed that all the verses are haikus as well?
