The Desert Poem by Cherylyn Vardi

The Desert

Rating: 4.5

Naked wastelands of monotony
Exhausting days of bruising suns
Under a lee of memory
Wayward winds churn crystals to dust

Time evaporates into slips of silence
Arid air mourns its temperamental loss
Desert beckons those who are daring
To slacken the noose of Time's albatross

Below this wilderness
A river runs rampant
Minerals and molecules of undiscovered days
Deep in the silt where Past meets Future
Self walks Presently into an unknown phase
