The Demon Lord (Part I) Poem by Phillip Dodham Cormier

The Demon Lord (Part I)

Rating: 0.5

The air is thick
Smoke rises from the flames
The fire seems to stretch on forever
Screams echo through the night sky
Though it is night, all can be seen
The ghouls laugh
The demons laugh
The creatures that live in the old wives’ tales laugh
The world is ablaze
Flames spread from house to house
No one is safe
No one can escape the wrath of the Demon Lord
Few can see his body
He spreads his mighty hands over villages
They burst into flames
Those who follow him laugh
Humans fall to his wrath
None can escape
Fire spreads over hill and dale
No one can stop the Demon Lord
He sores through the air
Breathing fire into the souls of men
Men bicker amongst each other
Friends to Foes
The Demon Lord lets loose a deafening laugh
All fall before him
None can escape
The fires burn on and on
The hearts of men weaken
None can escape
All bow down to the Demon Lord
They praise him
This prince of Darkness
Soon the days of peace sink into oblivion
The flames grow larger
As the hearts of Men shrink
None can escape
No one dares challenge the Demon
Soon humanity is nothing
The flames burn on and on
None can escape
