The Days Right After (Final Version)

the snow leafed tree was transfixed in the wind
while we kept weeping under a leaden sky
Christ will never turn these stones to bread
there doesn't have to be a reason why
the snow leafed tree is bruised now by the cold
and keeps the memories of a thousand Springs
deep within its bole of gold
so we hold on to the Living Stream
though Christ can't turn these stones to bread
by some few loaves he kept us fed
and by small fish that silver gleamed
when he was larger than all dreams.
