The Day She Left Poem by Kylie Archer

The Day She Left

She takes the knife and goes to her room. She shuts the door and sits on the floor. She cries as the cold blade touches her skin. She pushes hard and goes slow, so that this one will actually show. She pulls the knife away and watches as the blood seeps through the cut and runs down in a line. She feels fine as more cuts appear and her worries start to disappear. Then her pain goes away. Tears are still running down her cheek. She feels so weak that she cannot move. She looks down at her arm, looking at in alarm. Her arm is red and like she said she feels free, so she lays sprawled on the floor and the next thing she knows is she don't feel no more... An hour latter her mom comes in to tell her its time for bed, but when she walks in she sees her daughter dead. Hear heart sinks and she can not speak. She drops to the floor and breaks down and cries. She touches her skin and its as cold as ice. She looks at the cuts her daughter has made. She looks to the left and sees the bloody blade. She picks up her daughter and holds her tight rocking her back and forth. She whispers I love you, I've always have and always will.
