The Darkish Ways (From, Lost Song Poems) Poem by Peter S. Quinn

The Darkish Ways (From, Lost Song Poems)

The darkish ways are full of twist
For what is here of mood so true,
All worldly thoughts only a gist
Of what is I and what is you.

The song we know we break and tear
If differently to ear it'll play;
We can not much the unknown bear
And less so if it for long won't stay.

Each thought then grave will dig its own
And be of worth what words consist,
The darkish ways - worthy anon
When a kindle will light its grist.
