The Dance Poem by Sonya Johnson

The Dance

Rating: 2.5

Many years have been spent learning the steps
of how to go to and fro…
sashaying and twirling to a melody so sweet.
Perfecting the dance and mastering grace
the music pauses and stops mid flow…
Gone was the movement of body and soul

Now stumbling in the dark room of echoes…
is the reality.

Suspended above… Love and Death do a Tango,
changing partners with tears for a back dropp as beating hearts
everywhere provide the soundtrack.

Really nice poem. I think it's great, but the last half seems to not flow as well as the first half. Thanks for sharing!
