The Cult Of Apollo Poem by Tina Sena

The Cult Of Apollo

Rating: 4.0

Pythia's daughter
at Apollo's command,
give the soldier
his one demand.
And say to him
you see his death,
his final fight;
his shallow breath.
The fumes of delphi
the oracle expells,
and the soldier's
mouth widens
with admiration,
compells...
and still my Pythia,
she tells him more,
and the same as
tomorrow or
the day before...
he will fall and more
will come,
and the cult of Apollo
in time is done.
Still the ruins remain
on the site of Delphi...
But Pythia they
forget, by the
sacred pool of
lies.
