M.W. Poem by Tina Sena

Why when you look at me,
nothing is there?
Behind your eyes, your
soul is cold.
All that is left for me is a
hollowed out space,
a cold dark place,
a fake smile on your face.

Why can't you look at me,
and see more than me?
We are dancing together,
behind my eyes,
in places in my head,
in all the books I've read.
My body is your bread.

Why do you bother me?
You choose to stay around.
Are you my friend or my
pity mate?
You are the love when I hate,
the guard at my gate,
the straight road to my fate.

But somehow you don't see
me.
Somehow you don't need me.
And forever and always you
won't love me.
So...why?
