The Criticality Of Breath Poem by Geoff Lathy

The Criticality Of Breath

Breathe, just breathe,
Don’t feel at all costs,
Never cry, it’s too critical,
You’ve got to die,
You’ve got to lie,
Never cry, it’s just too critical,
Lash out with a broken fist,
And breathe; slowly now;
Slowly in and slowly out,
Slowing with age,
While ageless glows the
New moon
while you breathe,
Just breathe, never,
Never feel, it’s too careless,
Hold it all, all in your
Hands, don’t let it slip,
Don’t breathe, don’t think,
Don’t feel, don’t ever tell
Empty vessel, full of shame
And tears and shivering and…
Daunted spirit, don’t breathe,
Don’t tell, don’t cry,
Never, ever cry,
It’s just too critical.
