The cream to the top as some say always rise
Though those words never first came from the mouth of one wise
For many with success in their lives for to show
Are proof that it is not what they know only who they do know.

The Poet of the month now here is a surprise
Shows off to the World his great literary prize
A month ago known as a poetaster and now a great poet
The cream rose to the top have you taken note?

Of the cream rising to the top we so often do hear
But some do get a help to rise it does appear
He or she has risen to the top but 'twould be fair to say
That to reach to the top they were helped on their way.

The cream to the top rise in some cases true
And credit should be given to where credit is due
An ambiguous saying It would be fair to say
For some who rose to the top did get help on their way.
