The Courage of a bee
Is to venture out at 23
Days of age, facing the world of flowers
That have nectar and pollen
But also dangers hidden-in
Birds like a bee-eater
A robber fly, a praying mantis
And on-the-flower crab spider
The courage of a bee
Is to die for the colony
To protect her queen, and her honey
You may feel an excruciating pain
When you get stung
But she loses her life
Because that painful stinger
Drags out her intestine

While waiting, Zachary, to see if my earlier-sent comments show up, I'll say: '' think I've seen such spiders, sitting 'innocently' on a blossom, waiting for its prey! '
I like the 'bee/23' rhyme. ;) I DON'T like 1- lack of punctuation and 2 - all lines being started with a CAPITAL letter, ...but I'll live ; (
The 'courage of a bee' may be 'only' inbred instinct. I wonder if there is pain felt by the bee whose intestines os ripped out. Who designed bees that way! ? ? ? ? Imagine hitting someone and having YOUR arm fall off! ! : (
The transition, between st.1 and stanza 2, I think would be clearer to Readers if you used '....hidden-in: a feathered Bee Eater, a Robber Fly, ....' I think I saw one of those spiders once lying in wait in a blossom.

You have great talent, I may be young but I can tell. It's a shame not more people appreciate your work.
It may be that there are SO MANY POETS AND POEMS on PH, that few have 'discovered' Zachary's poems or taken time to read them. Some poets send 'feelers' out to members.
Thank you very much, Ryung!
