The Coronation Of King Charles111 And Queen Camilla Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

The Coronation Of King Charles111 And Queen Camilla

The bells ring out the choirs sing
Crowds shout out 'God Save the King'
Politicians, presidents, princes and priests
gather together, their numbers increased
by those invited to witness the scene
of our new King's enthronement, along with his queen.

Outside the great Abbey the people stand near
ready to greet them and send up a cheer
They wait in the rain but show no dismay
as they celebrate this historical day
Regiments of soldiers with their horses and bands
line up in readiness for their commands

Then comes the moment they've all waited for
our King and his Queen come out the great door
The King's cloth of gold and crown does impress
with the colourful uniforms and historical dress
Up goes the cheer from those waiting outside
the regiments begin their well-rehearsed ride

Fluttering from lampposts to mark the way
Union Flags and bunting proudly display
the overall scene of Red, White and Blue
highlighting the patriotic scene on view
Tents and umbrellas add to the bright scene
lining the way for our new King and Queen

What a great celebration is witnessed this May
seeing this momentous historical day
In the golden coach King Charles is seen
waving to all along with his Queen
The pomp and the ceremony, music and splendour
a wonderful day for all to remember.
