The Clown Of My Heart Poem by Paula Glynn

The Clown Of My Heart

Sometimes I feel all alone,
Even when in a crowded room,
I then turn around and look for you,
And you are there,
The clown of my heart.

When madness gets the best of me,
I look to my soul,
And try to see inside,
And combat the hurt and tears of my heart,
For you are my saviour,
The clown of my heart.

You mean the world to me,
For happiness you turn the key,
You no longer a mystery,
The clown of my heart.

I treasure your touch,
You make me feel alive,
And make me want to be alive,
To be here among friends,
And in a world I can enjoy,
The clown of my heart.

Life was meant to be lived,
Not endured: not down in the dumps,
And you help me appreciate reality,
You help me deal with people's lies,
And see those with harm in their eyes,
The clown of my heart.

You lift me to the sky with your positivity,
You make the sun shine over me,
You create the rainbow after the rain,
And help me find that elusive pot of gold,
The clown of my heart.

And a heart I shall treasure always.
